I don’t know about you, but I’m a lover of all beauty products and what the latest beauty hype is. I like to see what other people are using and if they’re loving it before I go make a purchase. As I all too quickly get closer to 30, I’ve become much more interested in taking better care of my skin. So lately I’ve had my eyes peeled on what’s most talked about as far as skin care goes. The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask has been something that’s been pretty hyped up, so I’m putting it to the test! Let’s see if it lives up to all the hype!
About The Product + Claims
The lip mask is sold at Sephora for $20.00 and has 4.6 stars out of over 4300 reviews. The product features a Berry Mix Complex which is a blend of several berries to soothe and soften the skin and a Moisture Wrap that essentially locks in ingredients and mineral water. The product claims to nourish and plump the lips allowing you to wake up with “baby soft lips.”
First Impressions
When you first open the box it comes in, a little pouch with a cute little application brush pad is on top. The packaging that the mask is in, is really nice too! When I saw that the lip mask was essentially filled with all the berries, I was worried the scent would be really strong. To my surprise, it’s a nice gentle scent that doesn’t bother me at all! So all the points for packaging and scent!
I tried it out for the first time yesterday and had super chapped lips. My lips do feel better today, but I’m using it again tonight to see if I get that baby soft feel. My initial thought, is that it might have worked better for me the first night had I used a lip scrub first to just get rid of any flaked skin. My only concern with lip scrubs is that they can be really harsh on already cracked lips. So I decided to give it another night to see if the flaking would improve.
After another nights use I can honestly say that my lips really are softer and are starting to heal on their own. They actually are looking fuller too! But when you start using this with already chapped lips, you might not see results for a few nights so just be patient. If you’re not a chapstick person like me, this would be a great option for you!
Worth The Hype?
After two days of use, I can tell why people love it! I personally don’t like using chapstick for chapped lips because I constantly rub my lips together making matters worse. So for someone like me, this is perfect to get that moisture back into my lips! For a $20 lip mask that will last a while, I think it’s worth the hype. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about chapped lips again for a while! I also find that my lip products go on more seamlessly and just feel less drying on my lips throughout the day.
