The holiday season has been a little different for both of us this year! I (Lindsey), as you know moved this year into an apartment. I’m sure they allow real trees here, but we just decided to get a fake one. When we lived in our house we always went to a Christmas tree farm to cut down our trees. I definitely missed that tradition this year, but I did like the simplicity of the decoration process this year! You can watch the video of us getting our tree and decorating last year here if ya want 🙂 I love having this memory to look back on now!
Jenne on the other hand, decided to paint the rest of her house white right before the holidays this year. It took her a little longer than usual to finally set up for Christmas. But ya can’t blame the girl for wanting all white interiors first! She filmed a cute video of Jenne and her fam setting up for Christmas last year too!
Lindsey’s Decor
The first piece is super super special. My father in law went to Israel and got us this hand carved musical nativity scene in Bethlehem. It’s carved out of real olive wood and you twist the star for it to play. It’s a super special piece and it’s just beautiful too!
I kept it simple with mostly gold ornaments with a little bit of black, green, and white in the mix. It just keeps it super simple and minimal. I changed up my letter board to say “always jingle all the way, nobody likes a half assed jingler.” I love a good funny quote to spice up my decor a bit.
These two ornaments right here, explain my husband and I pretty dang well. He’s a Software Engineer and I like to play with makeup so these are so us. Thanks mom for gifting us these perfect ornaments!
A few more ornament faves came from my Grandma and Grandpa. They gifted us a whole box of special ornaments as a wedding gift. The Santa says 2011 which is the year we got married, and the tennis ball is because DJ and I both played tennis the majority of high school. I love having these ornaments that have special meanings.
Jenne’s Decor
Jenne had two trees to decorate this year and has this gorgeous flocked tree. I’m totes jealous because they look so pretty! On this tree she did pops of red, burgundy, and blue. I’m loving this color combo!
For her second tree, she stuck with what she does best and that’s gold! We love a good gold tree don’t we?!
This is such a simple way to decorate other areas of your house, but it is so cute! I’m not sure why I didn’t think to do this with my extra ornaments!
What are your Christmas traditions when it comes to decorating? Do you follow some sort of theme or do you just use whatever ornaments you have?
