We’re getting closer and closer to 20 days out from making our way west, which is making this whole thing even more real for me. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’ll miss most about being here. I’m gonna be totally real with you, I’m about to ugly cry as I write these out so bear with me if there are some mistakes.
My Sweet Jack
I’m having a hard time with this one. Mainly because we almost lost my sweet pup once this year already and I realized how much I’ll miss him when he’s gone. I got Jack for my birthday when I was 13 years old. I slept down in the basement on a pull out couch for months waking up all hours of the night to take him to the bathroom. Feeding him when he was hungry, and picking up all the things he’d chew on. As I got older, and being a teen got harder he was always my shoulder to cry on. He truly is my best friend. He stayed at my parents when I moved out because he had 2 acres to run freely on and I couldn’t give that to him. I missed him but I knew he’d enjoy life better on his turf.
My adorable nephews came up with Jenne to pray over Jack and I know that’s what made him better. I’ve been able to spend more time with Jack this year than I have in the past few. I think that’s what I’ve needed especially before moving away. I’m definitely going to miss him when I’m gone. I’m just afraid that he might not be here when I come back to visit and that breaks my heart.
My Whole Fam
I come from a pretty tight knit family I would say. Every holiday was spent with extended family growing up and it’s still very much like that today. The majority of my family lives in or near Michigan and quite a bit of my husbands family lives here too. I’m going to miss being able to be at all of our family functions or just being able to be somewhere in a moments notice. We love all of our family and are going to miss everyone so so much! Let us know when you want to visit 😉
To My Parents
Like any kid you don’t always get along with your parents growing up. We definitely had some hard times (sorry mom and dad) but we’ve been able to develop great relationships over the years. This summer I’ve enjoyed doing yoga with my mom and just getting to hang out with her. She helped me plant some pretty flowers at our house because she’s a gardening queen. I also got to spend lots and lots of time with my dad this past year. He’s been helping with a million house projects to help me get this house ready for sale. We cut and installed baseboards for the entire house together, we replaced all of the outlets together, and we also worked on a super fun project outside in the 90+ degree weather. It’s safe to say he’s probably glad we’re moving lol. JK he’s gonna miss me and he knows it!
My parents have always been there for advice over the years and are so supportive of this moving process. We can’t wait for you guys to visit 🙂 Thank you for all that you’ve done to help us get this house ready to sell and for being so supportive. Love you guys so much!
To My Siblings
I’m definitely going to miss Jenne and Josiah a lot. Wait a second, I’m just now realizing I’m the only child who’s name doesn’t start with a ‘J’. No wonder I was always the least favorite hahaha 😉 Anyways, Jenne and I obviously talk pretty much every day since we work together, but we would even if we didn’t. Jenne’s my BFF and it’s going to be weird to be more than 4 hours away from her. Love you sister and don’t cry when you read this 🙂 My little brother Josiah and I are 6 years apart, but we get along much better nowadays. I’m going to miss seeing you around whenever I stop by, don’t forget to call me once in a while bro.
To My Favorite Little Boys
I’m going to miss Greyson and Henley soooooo much. They’re the cutest boys on the planet and their kisses are my favorite even though they almost always give me a cold. I’m so glad I got to hang out with you this summer at the zoo and I get to hang with you this weekend! Get ready for lots of kiss from Yaya. Also, thank you for loving me and being excited to see me. It never gets old seeing you light up and jump in my arms. I’ll miss squishing your little cheeks boys. Be good for you mom and dad!
Our Cute First House
This is the back of our house, but this was always my favorite view of it. The beautiful butterfly bushes that bloomed perfectly every summer. The gorgeous hibiscus that had flowers larger than my face. The pool that we didn’t get to enjoy as much as we thought we would. The sunroom where we could sit and enjoy the sounds of night and where Kami could talk to the birds. All of these things made this house special. I love that this was our first home and will always be our first home. I’m going to miss it and honestly have shed a few tears over it. It’s my favorite first house and I’m grateful for all the memories we made here.
Summertime in Michigan
Okay its been a hot miserably humid summer in Michigan this year, but I did love it. I love that we got to go on probably our last Bigg Family camping trip for a while. We spent a long weekend up near Lake Huron and it was absolutely beautiful. I’ll definitely miss the Great Lakes because they’re one my favorite things about this state.
I’ll also miss spending time with my in laws at their adorable house on the lake. We got to go there over Labor Day weekend and had a blast hanging out with everybody. We’ve got to do that a couple of times over the last few years and we’re definitely going to miss that!
The Best Part
The best part of missing something, is knowing that we are so fortunate. We’re fortunate to have family that we are so close to. We’re fortunate to have owned a home and that we were able to make it ours. I am so so grateful for all of my family (by blood or by law) I love you all and am so fortunate to miss you! Thank you all for your love and support as we take on a new adventure.
