So as you will see, Lindsey and I are taking full advantage of summer this week and have only changed from pjs to workout clothes or swimwear. Intentionally putting together outfits was not a high priority this week. Haha! Here’s to a short and sweet OOTW this week!
The one day I did get dressed this week, I threw one of my signature oversized sweaters on over this floral dress. I love how pairing the sweater with the dress made the dress function like a skirt. Wearing items in your closet in a different way is another way to create excitement about your wardrobe even when you can’t buy something new.
The details on this dress are ridiculously lovely. The neckline and low, lace covered back would typically create a dilemma for under garments but this beautiful coral bralette solves that problem! Layers are what makes an outfit interesting and can be hard to come by in the summer. I like to think of little details like this as an extra layer.
My pool attire was in keeping with the same color scheme. Apparently I am drawn to these colors this week. Haha! I found these adorable scalloped bottoms on clearance at Target, of course. They are surprisingly full coverage on the backside. I literally can’t get over how cute they are! I’ve had this tankini from JCrew for years and it is so versatile. I’ve worn it tucked into high waisted bottoms, knotted in the back like a crop top, and loose like I did with these bottoms. Also, my coverup was gifted to me by my father-in-law from a trip he took to Hawaii. I know, I can hardly believe it either! He did great!
AND that’s it. In my defense we did have Vacation Bible School all week, so I spent my evenings in jeans and a lovely shade of lime green. As Greyson said “It doesn’t suit me.” I don’t know where he heard that statement, but he has been using it often and appropriately this week and it cracks me up!
