The temperature has dropped a few degrees and here in the midwest we are already reaching for our sweaters, jackets, and pumpkin spice lattes. Well, not me on that last one, because I like my pumpkin spice in the candle format, not a drink (bleh!). We wanted to share our Fall 2018 Fashion WishList with you and we even have a FREE Downloadable WishList for you to fill out yoself!
As we dive more into this transition of our styles, the potential for waste does weigh on us. (We will have a post coming soon about how to avoid waste when changing up your style by donating, selling, etc. More on that later!) Another way to avoid this is to go into the season knowing exactly what you like and/or are looking for.

Our Fall Fashion Faves
I was going to try to divide this list up between Lindsey and I, but per usual our list is overlapping quite a bit. Isn’t it always like little sisters to copy their big sisters?! Hahaha, totally kidding! The inspo-stealing is mutual in this sisterhood.
We are obsessed with blazers for Fall and so is the rest of the world apparently. People Magazine had a 4-page spread showcasing women across the ages putting their best foot forward in tuxedos! The duchess of Sussex has sported a tux on more than one occasion since the royal wedding and recently appeared in a stunning blazer dress. This classic look may be on trend this year, but it will never go out of style.
In your hunt for the perfect blazer(s) there is no need to shy away from bold patterns or shoulder pads. They are currently everywhere so you can definitely invest in something fresh or head to the thrift store! Either way the price per wear will make you feel like you’ve gotten your money’s worth out of the item in no time!
2. The Slip Dress
I’m honestly not sure this one is on Lindsey’s radar yet, but I’m guessing it will be on her list too as soon as she reads this! Haha! What is not to love about the slip dress?!
They are so flippin comfortable (I don’t actually own one yet but I can’t see how this would not be true!). It can be dressed up or dressed down. Slip dresses are THE perfect layering piece for the fall. Throw on a slip dress, blazer, and tennis shoes and you are DONE. You will look chic and effortless, while being the most comfortable person in the room. It’s brilliant really!
3. Gold Layering Necklaces and Arm Candy
Lindsey actually beat me to the punch with this one, as she already owns some lovely Made By Mary necklaces. But I don’t think either of us have really paid much attention to our bare forearms. These pins have me realizing I’ve been missing out on another opportunity for more gold in my life. My 8 year anniversary (hint, hint!) so I’m hoping to check this off my wishlist soon!
4. Body Suits
With the high-waist craze, body suits are a must! Love how slimming they are and that you don’t have to worry about any unflattering bulkiness at the waist. There are so many options in this department but classic neutrals are on my list.
5. Vintage High Waist Denim
I’m just gonna say it. I want my mom’s jeans from 1995. I’m sorry I thought they were so uncool back then Mom! My love for high waisted skinny jeans isn’t going anywhere but I would love to add a pair of these to the mix!
6. Cropped Chunky Sweaters
Never thought this one would be on my list. When I wear a sweater I basically want it to envelope me like a blanket. BUT how cute do they look with high-waisted anything?! I’m definitely down for this.
7. Combat Boots
Ok so I’m like 75% of the way on board with this trend. By that I mean I LOVE the look, but I also have some hard qualifications for the pair I end up with. I am looking for minimal chunkiness, some feminine detailing, and gold hardware. It’s just a short list really. Haha!
8. Wrap Skirt
I’m obsessed with the wrap skirt for Fall. You can take your pick length wise as they are available in mini, midi, and full length variations. There are some incredible fabrics being used including suede, leather, wool, and silk/satin. This is another perfect layering piece and can be paired with over the knee boots, heels, tennis shoes, and even the combat boots above (if I ever find a pair that meet my qualifications!)
9. Trench Coat
Lindsey is all about that trench coat life and I am beginning to see the appeal. Whatever your style, being intentional with your outerwear is just as important as what’s underneath for the fashionable woman. Be on the lookout for unique structure, details, and fabric.
10. Classic Pumps
As I am transitioning my style, my former love of high heels is coming back to me full force. For those of you who didn’t know me in my college years, I was the girl who was 6’2-3″ strutting across my small Christian campus in heels. I said sionara to heels when I met and married my 6 foot husband but we’re both realizing how silly that was.
I would like to add classic pairs of black and nude pumps to my wardrobe this year. It might take me a minute to get used to the view from up here again. Haha!
11. Long Cardigan
Lindsey and I are always cold so we are loving the upscaled look of longer cardigans these days. They are the perfect layering piece and are sure to keep you warm.
12. Dress Slacks
It is not all about the jeans these days, dress slacks are making their way out of the workplace and onto the street. Lindsey is loving this mauve/plum pair and the patterns available are catching our eyes too! These can be dressed up with a blazer and heels or dressed down with a vintage t-shirt and tennis shoes. The possibilities are endless and that is what makes this so fun!
